The Most Holy Body and Blood Of Christ (Corpus Christi) June 7, 2015

OUR SUNDAY 11:30AM MASS A clear understanding concerning the problem that “tightness” causes between the 10:30am and 11:30am Sunday Masses was given to Mass goers last weekend. Those problems are: 1) Added pressure for parking around the church when two Masses are so closely timed; 2) organist and singer are delayed in getting from the 10:30am to 11:30am; 3) the priests has not time to prepare for the 11:30am; 4) those ministering at the 11:30am Mass have to wait to the last minute to receive directives. Furthermore, Mass goers strongly counseled that we do not wait until September to make the change from 11:30am to 11:45am. They said to change as soon as possible. Therefore, the 11:30am time will change to 11:45am on the First Sunday of July (5th).

WEEKDAY MASS SCHEDULE – Begins Wednesday, July 1st The Weekday Mass Schedule will change from 6:30am, 8:00am & 9:00am to: 6:30am and 8:30am with the evening 7:00pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday remaining the same. Please Note: the pastor will allow for two (2) intentions at the combined 8:30am Mass. This means that a person arranging for an intention at the 8:30am Mass will likely see a second intention by another person.

SAINT BARNABAS CHOIRS CHORAL CONCERT Want to be a Catholic? Do you know someone who wants to become Catholic? Please recommend persons to Deacon Laurato or Msgr. Barry or any of the priests or staff members in the parish. They will be invited to join our RCIA program. Give us a name, address or phone number and we will be in touch with them. Already Catholic, but not confirmed nor received your First Communion? The RCIA program is for you as well. The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is an easy-going, but structured process where people can learn what it means to be Catholic and living out that faith. Classes begin Sunday, September 20th at 10:00 AM in the Considine Center, Room 1-6. We will continue to meet on Sunday mornings in the Fall, Winter and Spring and culminate with the reception of the sacraments at the Easter Vigil. For more information please see the brochure that will be available in the rack in the back of the Church. Since this is a process and not everyone is at the same place in their journey of faith, it is important that one make all the classes once one is enrolled in the program. If you have any questions please feel free to call Deacon Laurato at 718-324-1478 [ext.37] or Msgr. Barry at 718-324-1478.

HOLY HOUR IN PRAISE OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS

THURSDAY NIGHT, JUNE 11, 2015 11:00 P.M. – MIDNIGHT SAINT BARNABAS MAIN CHURCH Beginning in 1673, St. Margaret Mary experienced visions of Jesus Christ. Our Lord spoke to St. Margaret Mary on the burning love that His heart has for each one of us. St. Margaret Mary wrote of one apparition, “The Sacred Heart was shown to me on a throne of flames. It was brighter than the sun and transparent as crystal; it had its own adorable wound, and was surrounded by a crown of thorns, signifying the stings caused by our sins, and there was a Cross above it. He showed me, also, that the ardent desire He [Jesus] had of being loved by humanity and of rescuing them from the path of perdition where Satan drags them in crowds, had made Him form the plan of manifesting his Heart to them, with all the treasures of love, of mercy, of graces of sanctification and salvation which it contains, in order that He might enrich all who were willing to render it, and procure for it, all the love, honor and glory in their power.” In the third revelation, Jesus asked St. Margaret Mary to spend one hour in prayer on Thursday nights from 11:00 P.M. until midnight in church as if she were staying with our Lord during His agony in the Mount of Olives. This Thursday, on the eve of the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart, St. Barnabas will join Jesus in humble prayer to God the Father. As Jesus said to the Apostles,

“COULD YOU NOT WATCH ONE HOUR WITH ME”? Pro Life Corner: Some babies die by chance; no baby should die by choice. Some choices are just wrong. Choose life.
