TRIP steels Data sheet • May 2017 The classical steel with tensile strengths of up to 800 MPa and exceptional deep-drawing properties TRIP (transformation-induced plasticity) steels are part of the ahss classic product line of voestalpine in the field of ultralights. They maintain high tensile strength while achieving excellent deep-drawing properties through extraordinary uniform and fracture elongation. These deep-drawing properties are made possible by a specially adjusted microstructure that allows a strain-induced phase transformation. TRIP steels are especially ideal for the manufacture of complex components with pronounced deep-drawing properties. Galvanized surfaces ensure the best corrosion protection. As a result of their high crash energy absorption, TRIP steels are ideal for structural parts and crash-relevant body component applications.
