Director, Learning and Development Taylor Corporation is seeking a Director of Learning and Development to lead the design, development and delivery of high impact & sustainable L&D programs to ensure that Taylor has the organizational capability to meet current and future business objectives. This position will focus on shaping overall learning strategy and integrating the latest e-Learning technologies to engage and develop our diverse employee population. The Director of Learning and Development is a technology-savvy professional who will create and drive an e-Learning initiative across the Taylor family of companies. As the learning management process owner and thought leader, this position will establish, implement, and manage a learning strategy and serve as the principle learning and development subject matter expert, technical point of contact, and vendor relationship manager. The Director of Learning and Development will establish a technologyastute vision for e-Learning delivery and performance improvement solutions in support of the organization. This is a hands-on leadership role that reports to the VP, Human Resources, and partners closely with Leadership and HR teams, providing learning and development e-solutions to employees across the Taylor portfolio of companies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Leads and supports the selection, implementation and launch of an LMS to the organization, including assisting with communication, driving use, partnering with leaders and colleagues on content, and ongoing administration and reporting Provides leadership and mentoring on the application of LMS methodology and tools to cultivate and establish LMS experts and coaches, and embed LMS skill set across organization Identifies subject matter experts for content delivery, prepares SMEs for delivery, and provides feedback on effectiveness Oversees recruitment and selection of LMS resources to ensure the right talent is in place to execute LMS activities As subject matter expert, partners with leadership to more fully develop corporation’s learning strategy, collaborating with business leaders and HR Business Partners to assess, makes recommendations; designs/delivers e-Learning solutions Oversees the planning and execution of LMS transformation initiatives that promote continuous improvement, increase operating model consistency, and engaging & empowering employees Manages e-Learning delivery, recommending state-of-the-art strategies, technologies (i.e., gamification, Camtasia, Captivate, Flash, etc.), and adult learning theories and models
Provides regular feedback and recommendations to leaders regarding application of LMS models and methodologies in support of effective utilization and positive outcomes Personally develops e-Learning training content Audits all instructional content to ensure consistency with learning strategy, and that final product is of the highest quality and meets delivery deadlines Remains up-to-date on latest trends, technologies and tools in development and in use
Qualifications, Experience and Skills • • • • • • • • • • • • •
Bachelors degree required, or equivalent related professional experience Masters degree in Education/Adult Learning or Instructional Technology preferred 7+ years progressive L&D experience, preferably in a corporate environment, to include instructional design and development/facilitation of e-Learning 3+ years global LMS administration and implementation experience Advanced knowledge of LMS platforms and supporting software Experience selecting, implementing and administering a Learning Management System in a global environment Demonstrated success using e-Learning authoring tools for multimedia development Experience with online content integration with LMS (AICC, SCORM) Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects, and partner effectively with crossfunctional teams Strong planning, coordinating, organization, and leadership skills and the ability to self-manage multiple projects and deadlines Ability to combine critical thinking with creative problem solving, aligning technical options with the needs of employee population Superior oral and written communication skill Strong collaboration and negotiation skills
