CAROLE ROBERTSON CENTER for Learning

Over 40 Years of Educating, Enriching, and Empowering... The Carole Robertson Center for Learning was founded in 1976 by a dedicated group of parents and community residents. The Center is named in memory of Carole Robertson, Addie Mae Collins, Cynthia Wesley, and Denise McNair – the four girls killed in the 1963 bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. From its modest beginning, the Center has evolved into a comprehensive child and family development agency, serving over 650 children and families every day from three sites in the North Lawndale, Little Village, and Near West Side communities of Chicago.

What We Do The Carole Robertson Center for Learning is a private non-profit organization providing education and family services to children and families on the west side of Chicago. We serve children at every stage of development – from birth to age 12. All of the families we serve are low income, with 90% living below the federal poverty level although most parents are in school or working full-time.

“The Carole Robertson Center for Learning has for 40 years been providing critically needed family services on the city’s west side. MB Financial is honored to work with the Center as a community partner. It is very important in our corporate culture to give back to the communities we serve. We appreciate the opportunity to support the Center as volunteers and as trusted advisors.” Debbie Kobak, President, MB Financial Charitable Foundation

Your sponsorship of our 2017 Annual Celebration is an opportunity for you and your organization to be part of our legacy and create pathways for children and families to lead productive, fulfilling lives.

Why Sponsor the Center? Together with the Carole Robertson Center for Learning, your sponsorship will change lives for the better. We primarily serve the North Lawndale and Little Village neighborhoods of Chicago, which have among the highest rates of crime and poverty in the city. These communities have seen a rise in violent crime in recent years and the Center has served as a safe place for children and families. A recent segment on ABC 7 Chicago highlighted the Center and the importance of early childhood education in addressing violence and transforming communities. Carole Robertson Center for Learning

“Child Care Purchasing Alliance has supported the Carole Robertson Center for Learning for a number of years. The positive impact that they have in their communities is incredible. Every single staff member that we have come in contact with shows the same passion and dedication as the next. We support the Center because we know that our donations are put to the best use possible - the children.” Mark Hilgart, Child Care Purchasing Alliance

Benefits of Sponsorship Your company’s sponsorship makes you a participant in strengthening our communities. All funds generated through sponsorship go directly towards better serving our children and families. Although the Center receives public funding, many of our everyday necessities aren’t covered. We rely on sponsors like you to help us provide a rich learning environment for our children. Sponsorship dollars contribute to invaluable experiences for our children, such as field trips and summer camp, as well as additional trainings and courses for teachers and maintaining our facilities. Your sponsorship dollars go toward purchasing furniture, such as cribs and buggies for our infants and toddlers, and computers and software for our school age children, as well as repairing and renovating our facilities to ensure children are cared for in safe, protected environments. Each sponsorship level provides critical support to every child and family served while also promoting your organization or company to our network of 4,000+ supporters, donors, and volunteers. Partner with us to transform communities by sponsoring our 2017 Annual Celebration in support of the children and families we serve!
