Destination & Leisure Management
Just 30 years ago, Emirates was a dream. Today, we are one of the world’s fastest growing airlines, serving over 145 destinations in six continents around the world. Our success is rooted in a commitment to providing innovative products and the highest quality service to our customers, shipping partners and business partners in the aviation and travel industries. Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa
Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa is Australia’s first luxury conservation-based resort. A scenic three-hour drive from Sydney, it is set between two national parks and located in the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. Set in its own private 4,000-acre conservation and wildlife reserve, the resort has been acknowledged as one of the world’s most luxurious and environmentally responsible. Every experience here is influenced by nature, including the Australian cuisine. With a food philosophy based on fresh, seasonal and where possible organic produce, most of the ingredients come from within a 100-mile radius of the valley, or straight from the resort’s very own kitchen garden. It is also the first carbon neutral resort in the world to be certified through an internationally accredited greenhouse gas programme. Surrounded by majestic escarpments and breath-taking views, a central focus of the resort is the 1832 Heritage Homestead & Kitchen Garden which has been meticulously restored to its original state. The Valley made a lasting impression on Charles Darwin, who visited the old homestead in 1836 to explore the abundant flora and fauna and the rich natural history of the area. Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa has 40 stand-alone villas surrounded by wide, private verandas, each with its own indoor/outdoor swimming pool, separate living and bedroom areas, walk-in wardrobe, en-suite bathroom
and double-sided fireplace. Its architecture is progressive but classic, reminiscent of traditional rural Australian homesteads. Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa has its own Timeless Spa, an Emirates branded facility with six double treatment rooms and a distinct range of treatments drawn from traditional techniques used all over the world. To complete the wellbeing experience, the resort has tennis courts, a fully-equipped gymnasium, steam room, sauna and a plunge pool. A 25-metre outdoor infinity swimming pool and adjoining spa pool are also available to guests, with poolside service and lounge areas offering commanding views of the spectacular Wolgan Valley. Guests can get closer to nature with four wheel-drives, hikes, wildlife safaris, horse riding and star gazing and see first hand the Wollemi Pine (Wollemia Nobilis), one of the world’s oldest and rarest tree species, endemic to the Blue Mountains. For those who need to keep in touch with work, there is a 24-hour business centre, conference facilities for up to 90 guests, and an intimate boardroom for up to 12. The resort is a proud member of Leading Hotels of the World, and a founding member of Luxury Lodges of Australia.

Sports sponsorship We have been committed to sports sponsorship around the world for over 25 years, beginning with the first powerboat race held in Dubai in 1987. Today, we are linked to some of the world’s leading sporting events and teams across six continents. We see sport as one of the best ways to connect with our customers, allowing us to share in their passions, support their interests and build closer relationships. Our current sponsorships include:
Football is a truly global sport and consequently has always formed an important part of our sponsorships. Through partnership with governing bodies and leading club teams, we have become one of the most prominent brands within world football. A partnership with the Asian Football Confederation and sanctioned events ensures Emirates is also highly visible within the important Asian markets. We have a wealth of sponsorships at European club level, including Real Madrid, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, Hamburger SV, Olympiacos, and of course, Arsenal. In 2004, we signed the biggest sponsorship deal in English football history with Arsenal, which included naming rights to the Emirates stadium, as well as shirt sponsorship and other rights. We renewed our long-term commitment to the North London club in November 2012, with a fresh deal which runs until 2028. Closer to home, the Arsenal Soccer School in Dubai is a joint venture between Emirates and Arsenal Football Club that provides boys and girls of all ages the opportunity to learn how to ‘play the Arsenal way’ through mentoring from UEFA licensed coaches. We also partner the Asian Football Confederation and play an active role in supporting the AFC Champions League, the continent’s premier club competition.
Emirates is one of the leading supporters of major golf tournaments across the globe and is the Official Airline sponsor of 24 events worldwide. As a Partner of the European Tour, nineteen form part of the European Tour International Schedule, and the Race to Dubai of which Emirates is also a sponsor including: South African Open (SA), Hong Kong Open (Hong Kong), Nelson Mandela
Championship (SA), Joburg Open (SA), Maybank Malaysian Open (Malaysia), The Championship (Korea), BMW PGA Championship (UK), Nordea Masters (Sweden), Lyoness Open (Austria), the Irish Open (Ireland), BMW International Open (Germany), Alstom Open de France (France), AAM Scottish Open (UK), D+D Real Czech Masters (Czech), Italian Open (Italy), Portugal Masters (Portugal), Perth International (Australia), WGC HSBC Champions (China) and the season ending DP World Tour Championship (UAE). Beyond the European Tour Emirates sponsors the Thailand Open (Thailand-One Asian Tour), The Emirates Australian Open, The Australian PGA Championship (AustraliaAustralasian Tour), the Indonesia PGA Championships (OneAsia Tour) and finally the Boeing Classic (USA) on the PGA Champions Tour in America
Cricket offers strong synergy for Emirates in terms of the key cricket playing nations and major route networks across Asia, Australasia and the UK. As such, cricket has formed an important part of our sponsorship strategy - providing us with a powerful platform to connect with fans and communities. We are proud to be associated with the International Cricket Council (ICC) and all their major events including the ICC Cricket World Cup, ICC World Twenty20 and ICC Champions Trophy. The ICC partnership also sees Emirates visible on the official kit of the ICC elite panel of Umpires. In the UK, we have forged strong partnerships with Durham County Cricket Club and more recently with Lancashire County Cricket Club. These deals include naming rights to both clubs’ playing grounds: the Emirates Durham International Cricket Ground and Emirates Old Trafford, as well as their respective T20 representative teams.
Australian Rules Football
We are a proud sponsor of Collingwood Australian Rules team, based in Melbourne. The ‘Magpies’ as they are more commonly known, are one of the most successful and widely supported clubs in the Australian Football League (AFL) and across all sports in Australia – with Emirates featuring proudly on their playing and training jerseys.
Our tennis portfolio includes some of the most high profile events on the ATP and WTA Tours including the BNP Paribas Open, Rogers Cup, BNL d’Italia, Barcelona Open, Dubai Tennis Championship and, as of 2012, the US Open Series which culminates in the US Open – the fourth and final grand slam of the tennis calendar.
We have a rich heritage with the game of rugby and will be an official Worldwide Partner of Rugby World Cup 2015 and 2019, as well as the official airline. Emirates was proud to be the first Worldwide Partner of the Rugby World Cup 2011 in New Zealand. Through an extensive portfolio of top-class rugby sponsorships, we strive to reflect the core values of the game and enrich the experiences of rugby fans across the globe. We have been the title sponsor of the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens for over 20 years and the vibrant tournament has firmly established itself as one of the best on the HSBC Sevens World Series circuit. We also sponsor the Emirates Airline Glasgow Sevens, the penultimate event of the annual Series calendar. Our partnership with USA rugby sees Emirates displayed on the playing kit of the US Eagles Men’s, Women’s and Seven’s rugby teams.
In addition to sponsorship of worldwide tennis events, our recently announced five-year global partnership with the ATP sees Emirates become the official airline of the ATP World Tour, as well as the new title sponsor of the ATP Rankings. This exciting new partnership with the ATP enables us to engage with tennis fans across a number of different mainstream and digital platforms, as well as the season-ending Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.
Emirates can also be seen in action at every international rugby match through its sponsorship of the IRB’s elite panel of referees – who always take to the field in their ‘Fly Emirates’ kit.
We have been synonymous with the sport of kings for many years and today we are involved with some of the biggest carnivals and races around the world including ‘the race that stops a nation’ – the Melbourne Cup, ‘the world’s richest race’ – the Dubai World Cup, the carnival leading up to it and the Singapore Derby. As a true enthusiast of the sport, we also partner the internationally renowned Godolphin Stable, the Maktoum family’s private horseracing stable, which has produced some of the world’s highest calibre horses and jockeys.
In February 2013, we once again entered the exciting world of motorsport with a five-year global partnership with the Formula One Group. As a Global Partner of F1, we had a major presence at 15 races in 2013 across Europe, Asia, Australasia, North America and South America. Fly Emirates branding will feature at events including historic races such as The British Grand Prix at Silverstone, The Italian Grand Prix at Monza and The Brazilian Grand Prix in São Paolo. Like Emirates, Formula One has a truly global reach and in 2013 the F1 Grand Prix was held in countries around the world. Through our sponsorship activities, we aim to bring fans closer to all the action. 30
