XV SPANISH PORTUGUESE CONGRESS OF PLANT PHYSIOLOGY

BARCELONA SPAIN

2017 BARCELONA SPAIN

WELCOME Dear Colleagues, It is a pleasure for us to announce the XXII Meeting of the Spanish Society of Plant Physiology and the XV Hispano-Portuguese Congress of Plant Physiology, which will be held in Barcelona from June 26 to 29, 2017. This biennial conference, sponsored by the Spanish and Portuguese Societies of Plant Physiology, is one of the major scientific meetings devoted to basic and applied plant research held in the Iberian Peninsula. The Congress will be divided into different sessions that will cover the main areas of Plant Physiology (growth and development, biochemistry and metabolism, nutrition and transportation, plant responses to stress, etc.) at different levels of integration (molecular, cellular, organ, whole plant and environment), and will be attended by renowned speakers on the various topics. We want this meeting, once again, to be a forum to publicize the latest conceptual and technological advances in Plant Physiology, leading in turn to the exchange and dissemination of ideas among participants. In addition, we aim to raise awareness in society about the importance of research in plants. As the organizers, we would like to encourage all researchers who study the various aspects of plant systems to contribute to the success of this conference by attending and presenting their work. In this edition, we would like that most young researchers from the different groups are given the opportunity to disseminate their work in oral presentations through the implementation of “flash” communications and the use of electronic posters. The conference will be held at the Hotel Alimara (Barcelona), a venue easily accessible by public transport and well connected to the city center. Barcelona is a cosmopolitan city with a great architectural, monumental, cultural and gastronomic offer, which we hope you will also enjoy. As the Organizing Committee, we will be committed to make this conference a great scientific success and ensure that the participants have a pleasant stay in our city. Welcome to Barcelona! Organizing Committee
