How have Friends of the Library already begun to help? Bank of Jamestown Bank of Jamestown has been a Friend of the Library for many years, sponsoring a variety of magazines for patrons’ reading enjoyment, the annual Summer Reading Coloring Contest, and in 2013, made a $300 gift for the purchase of over 3,500 LEGOs in order to start a LEGO Club. LEGO Club meets the second Tuesday of each month at 5:00 pm at the Branch Library in Russell Springs, drawing crowds of more than 25 children, ages three to eleven.

Jamestown Lion’s Club Since 2013, the Jamestown Lion’s Club has made an annual gift of $500 to the Russell County Public Library for the purchase of large print books, which advances the Lion’s mission of promoting healthy vision. Each book purchased with this gift includes a personalized bookplate so that readers can be inspired by the generous gift.

First National Bank of Russell Springs For many years, First National Bank of Russell Springs has been a Friend of the Library, making annual $250 gifts to sponsor two hands-on, live animal programs for families during the Library’s annual Summer Reading Program. These two annual events bring more than 100 families to the Library for an experience unlike any other in Russell County.
