Meeting 15th March 2013 Present: Belinda, Amanda, Julie Apologies: Louisa, Judi, Victoria, Sarah Treasurer’s Report: There is £727.81 in the bank and a £50 float. We need to be aware to keep £500 for the Xmas pantomime. Easter Assembly: Belinda, Julie, Amanda and Louisa are certainties to help at the Easter assembly. There will be an Easter cake, which FOMS are paying to have made, which will be raffled as well as a chocolate tombola. Amanda also donated a large soft toy bunny to raffle. Refreshments will be served from 1.30. FOMS will meet at 1pm to organise raffles etc. So if anyone is free please come along. Julie will check box for supplies plus raffle tickets and also donations for tombola. Fashion Show: A date has been decided for a fashion show with M&Co at their store in town. The show will take place on Monday 29th April, about half six, although times are to be confirmed. Tickets and posters will be available soon from M&Co. They will sell 30 tickets and we sell 50 for which we keep ticket money and any money from a raffle which we organise. Ticket prices will probably be £2.50 to include a glass of wine or non-alcoholic drink. We will need chairs for the show so Julie will ask Mrs Bainbridge if the school hall chairs can be borrowed after lunch on that Monday and returned either that evening or Tuesday morning before lunch. Models will also be required for the show, children and adults especially any Dads, Granddads! Julie will ask Mrs Bainbridge to put a request on the newsletter. It was decided to do a shopping trip to purchase some items for raffle prizes and to spend a night assembling them, for, example, beauty or food hampers. Further details will follow if anyone fancies a bit of shopping and assembling! Any Other Business: It was thought it might be a good idea to keep it fresh in people’s minds what FOMS money has been spent on. Victoria will be asked to pass a list of items over the last couple of years to Mrs Bainbridge to go on the newsletter. The date for the leaver’s disco will need to be decided so Belinda will try to catch Philip to ask for his help and then we can sort a date with Mrs Bainbridge. It was thought it might be a nice idea to ask children to make posters for school doors when we know the details. Although a letter thanking local businesses for their donations towards the Xmas raffle was submitted to the Teesdale Mercury it was not printed. It was decided a belated letter should be sent again. Next Meeting: Thursday 18th April at Belinda’s house, 2 Thorngate Wynd at 6.30pm.
