Exchange Student Program _ Overview

Gachon University provides an exchange student program for international students to study in Gachon University for the length of one (1) or two (2) semesters. The exchange students at Gachon University can expect to enroll in a variety of undergraduatelevel courses conducted in English language, and participate in unforgettable experiences together with the Gachon University students.

_ Requirements

a) Students of universities that have signed an academic cooperation agreement or students exchange agreement with Gachon University. b) Students who are chosen as exchange students and receive recommendations from their home university. c) Students who completed more than one academic year at their home university and have a GPA of 2.5 or more. d) Students who possess language abilities that are sufficient to study in Gachon University(English/Korean). e) Students with an entry visa of the Republic of Korea and without restrictions on entry.

_ Application Procedure

a) Submit the application documents by e-mail and postal mail. b) List of application documents: - Application form - Dormitory registration form - Academic transcript in English - Certificate of registration in English - Letter of recommendation - Copy of passport - Certificate of health insurance - Certificate of language proficiency(Korean/English - Optional)

_ Acceptance of Credits

Academic credits of the exchange students while they study in Gachon University can be accepted by the home university. Official transcript is transferred to the home university after completing each semester. Students should check in advance with their home university to see if the credits from Gachon University are acceptable.

_ Course Work

a) It is possible to register for courses from a minimum of one credit, to up to a maximum of 18 credits per semester. b) Major-related courses taught in English language are provided every semester. c) Students who understand Korean language can attend undergraduate courses taught in Korean as well as the courses taught in English. d) It is possible to take Korean language courses (12 credits provided) separately in the Korean Language Education Center of Gachon University. e) A list of courses and guidance on how to register for classes are provided before every semester starts.

a) Goals and purpose - Assist international students in academic affairs and adaptation to life in Korea. - Procure cultural exchange between international students and Gachon University students. - Improve language abilities of the participants and encourage global experience

_ Activities

a) Assistance for the adaptation of University life - Academic affairs : Registration for classes, class attendance, etc. - University life : Introduction (campus tour, library use, etc.), regional guide (geography, traffic, festival, convenient facilities, etc.) campus club activities, etc. b) Assistance for the understanding of Korean culture - Experience of Korean traditional culture: community festival, traditional play experience, field trip to cultural sites, etc. - International students' participation in cultural experience c) Other activities - Airport pick up/dormitory entrance and international students orientation - Home-stay program during Korean traditional holidays or over the weekend - Solutions of various complaints, etc.

Dormitory Gachon University provides a multi-facility on-campus dormitory with the aim of providing international students with safety and comfort in the campus. Quad Room(4-person sharing) Dormitory Fee KRW 768,400(4 months) / KRW 1,147,600(6 months) Standard Features Amenities
