Hay Creek Valley Saddle Club Meeting Minutes January 2, 2015 I. Call to order Sue Gerdes called to order the regular meeting of the HCVSC at [time] on January 2, 2015 at Red Wing Union Hall. II. Roll call Kristina Novek conducted a roll call. The following persons were present: Matea Simonson, John Donna Steffenhagen, Babs Knudson, Sue Gerdes, Jacque Stauffer, and Carole Thuringer III. Approval of minutes from last meeting Kristina Novek read the minutes from the last meeting. The minutes were approved as read. IV. Open issues a) Club Dues: Please pay if you have not done so already. Family $25 Single $20. b) The Club T-shirts are available. If you need to exchange for a different size please let Matea Simonson or Kristina Novek know. An order for sweatshirts and additional t-shirts will be placed next week (Jan 12th). Sweatshirts are $20 and t-shirts are free to members and volunteers. c) Club Membership for WSCA needs to be paid (Check and Application is in the mail) d) The changes proposed at the December meeting to the show bills were reviewed and applied with a few minor changes. A 35 and over English Pleasure class was added to the Fun Shows. Our 2 day Horse Show is scheduled for June 20th and 21st. The Fun Shows are scheduled for May 16th and Sept. 12th. e) No new updates for GCSCA V. New business a) Financial report audit will be done for February Meeting. The board of directors need to attend the Feb. Meeting to review this.

b) A new club meeting place was discussed. A motion was made to move the monthly meetings (for 3 months as a trial) to Caribou Coffee and use their conference room. The motion was passed by Carole T. and Jacque S. c) Judges for the horse shows this summer still need to be hired. Jacque Stauffer will be booking the judges. d) A motion was passed to submit an application for offering horse rides at this year’s Horse Expo in St. Paul, MN. It was decided that this would be the clubs’ main fundraiser instead of a tack swap. Other clubs will have to be recruited to help with this event if our application is approved. The Horse Expo runs April 24th – 26th 2015. Carole Thuringer will be submitting the application. e) The HCVSC 2015 meeting dates were decided and are as follows. Fridays at 7pm Feb. 6th (at Caribou Coffee in Red Wing) March 6th (at Caribou Coffee) April 10th (at Caribou Coffee) May 1st June 5th July – Trail Riding no formal meeting Aug 21st – this will be for both August and Sept. meeting Oct. 2nd Nov. 6th Dec. 6th (Sunday) f) We have 2 scholarship applications. The amount given and whether or not to give to both applicants or just one, needs to be further discussed. g) The Midwest Horse Fair in Madison, WI will be held on April 17th – 19th. We can discuss trying to get a group of club members together to attend.
