PubUc Hearing for Traffic Calming on Brandon Ridge Dr
REQUESTED ACTION BY MANAGER: To present to the Board of Commissioners for consideration. CRITICAL DATE FOR ACTION: June 18, 2003 PURPOSE: To hold a public hearing regarding the installation of traffic calming devices on Brandon Ridge Drive, and to present to the Board of Commissioners for consideration. Pursuant to the Traffic Calming Program adopted by the Board of Commissioners, hearings in front of the Board of Commissioners should be held for the installation of all traffic calming devices on public roads. DISCUSSION: The proposal includes the installation of no more than four speed humps on Brandon Ridge Drive between Brandon Mill Road and Wright Road, or three speed humps on Brandon Ridge Drive between Brandon Mill Road and Wright Road with an entrance treatment on Brandon Ridge Drive at Brandon Mill Road. This is pursuant to the request of the neighborhood, as documented by petitions with the appropriate percentages of signatures required by Board policy. IMPACT: The above traffic calming devices will be installed to help regulate traffic in the affected neighborhood. AVAILABILITY OF FUNDING: Funding is available for the construction of this project in account number 300-999-5200-1160. COORDINATION: We will coordinate with Purchasing for the release of the project for bid.
