Irish Whiskey

How is Irish Whiskey Made... Considered to be the father of all whiskey, Irish Whiskey is often a blend of grain-based whiskey. This complex blend and the fact that Irish Whiskey malt is dried in a closed kiln, away from fire and smoke, is what distinguishes it from Scotch, its closest whiskey cousin. The barley never comes in contact with smoke, so the true malted barley flavour of delicate, sweet, toasty honey shines through. It is then aged in used bourbon or various wine/rum barrels for at least 3 years.

What are the different types of Irish Whiskey... There are four different types of Irish Whiskeys which are blends; single pot still, single malt, and single grain. Blends are made from combining column still product with richer and intense pot still product. Single pot still is made from a mixture of malted and unmalted barley completely distilled in a pot still. The single malt is made entirely from malted barley distilled in a pot still. Single grain is produced by the whiskey continuously distilled from the unmalted grain.
