THE ACE GROUP CLASSIC ADDS AZINGER, CALCAVECCHIA, O’MEARA & PRICE TO COMMITTED FIELD LIST Naples, FL – The ACE Group Classic has added four PGA TOUR major champions to the tournament’s latest field list. Paul Azinger, Mark Calcavecchia, Mark O’Meara and Nick Price will each participate in the 24th annual ACE Group Classic at The Quarry in Naples. The tournament takes place February 14 – 20. “We are looking forward to hosting the legends when they return to The Quarry on February 14,” said Tournament Director Kevin Rooney. “From my conversations with the pros, I know the outstanding hospitality and community support in Naples is something that they look forward to coming back to each year. I hope our fans will make a point to come out and spend the week with the legends for another great year.” Azinger, winner of the 1993 PGA Championship, made his Champions Tour debut at last year’s ACE Group Classic, finishing T21. The 12-time PGA TOUR champion only competed in four Champions Tour events and one PGA TOUR event in 2010 because of suffering cracked ribs in a motorcycle accident in September. Azinger captured American hearts in 2008 when he captained the United States Ryder Cup team to its first victory since 1999. In addition, many know his voice and commentary from ABC, ESPN and Golf Channel telecasts. The winner of The British Open Championship in 1989, Calcavecchia spent over 100 weeks in the top 10 of the World Golf Rankings from 1988 to 1991. In 2010, Calcavecchia made 16 starts on the PGA TOUR before turning 50 in June and transitioning to the Champions Tour. He ended his Champions Tour rookie campaign with 14 starts and a runner-up finish at the 3M Championship. O’Meara made a breakthrough on the Champions Tour in 2010, winning the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf and Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship. O’Meara has only competed in The ACE Group Classic once before, a T5 finish in 2007. The 16-time PGA TOUR champion owns two major titles to his record – the 1998 Masters and 1998 British Open. Inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2003, Price was regarded as one of the best golfers in the world in the mid-1990s. During his prime, Price captured three major championships including back-toback majors at the 1994 British Open and PGA Championship. A native of South Africa, Price has won three career events on the Champions Tour, including two in 2010. Price has competed in Naples four times, with his best effort a 5th place finish in 2008.
