2018 Dog Training Classes “Successful Dog Training and Happy Dogs since 1948” CLASSES: Hourly classes meet for six weeks. Classes are limited. We recommend that you register early by mail. You will ONLY be notified if the class you request is full. You may send your dog’s vaccination records with your mailed registration or bring them to first night of class. OBEDIENCE FEES: $60.00. Pre-registration closes 14 days prior to the start of the class. If you pre-register then you get a $5.00 discount (please send $55.00) CONFORMATION FEES: $8.00 per night. All classes are drop-in. AGILITY FEES: $70.00 (The 4 week Focus classes are $50.00) Pre-registration is required. No early discounts. Please Read & Sign This Agreement In consideration of my enrollment and participation in Kalamazoo Kennel Club, Inc, Training Classes, I hereby agree to assume all liability for any personal injury, property damage and injury, or damage to other dogs or people I or my dog(s) might cause. I understand that fees will not be refunded after the first night of training classes with my dog(s) without KKC Board approval. The Kalamazoo Kennel Club takes every measure to ensure the comfort and safety of all people and dogs participating in our classes. If your dog exhibits any behavior that leads your instructor to conclude that your dog is too dangerous or aggressive with dogs or people to participate in a group class, your instructor will dismiss your dog from all future classes. We will provide you with a list of instructors who give private training to dogs with serious behavior issues.

GENERAL INFORMATION All classes are held at the Kalamazoo Kennel Club building (Heated & Air Conditioned). There is a minimum of 6 students per class or the class will be cancelled. All classes are limited. We recommend that you register early by mail to reserve a space in a class. You will ONLY receive a notice if you do not get into the class. Quality Leashes and correctly fitted collars are available for sale FIRST NIGHT OF CLASSES On the first night you should plan on arriving a half hour before the time your class is scheduled to start to allow time for registration. DO NOT BRING Your dog on the first night of class for the Kindergarten Puppy or Beginning Obedience class. BRING Your dog on the first night of class for all the other Obedience and all Conformation and all Agility classes. VACCINATIONS Proof of vaccinations DA2PP (Distemper Booster) for all dogs plus Rabies for all dogs 4 months old or older must be provided before your dog can be admitted to a training class. You can mail a non-returnable copy of the vaccination report to KKC along with your registration. Or, you can show a copy of the vaccination report at registration evening. Visiting dogs must have proof of vaccinations.

(Age 10 weeks to 6 months) AKC STAR Puppy Program Train your young dog good habits to become a well-behaved companion dog. Continue your puppy training and learn some tricks for the AKC tricks certificate. (6 months through Adult) Basic Training towards a well-behaved companion dog AKC Canine Good Citizen –. Prerequisite – Puppy or Beginning Class AKC Advanced Canine Good Citizen –. Prerequisite – CGC Class

Advanced Open/Utility Skills Learn how to perform Rally signs and practice courses for the AKC Rally Obedience titles Train your dog for the AKC Scent Work titles

CONFORMATION

All classes are drop-in. No pre-registration required. Cost is per handler, not per dog. Handler is allowed to work multiple dogs in all classes. Teaches individuals ring procedure and how to handle their dogs in the show ring. Provides Junior exhibitors the opportunity to prepare for showmanship. Provides exhibitors the opportunity to prepare their dogs for the show ring.

CONFORMATION – Beginning: CONFORMATION – Juniors: CONFORMATION – Advanced:

All Agility classes are limited to 10 students, early registration is recommended. There is a minimum of 6 students or the class will be cancelled. AGILITY – Foundations Open to dogs 6 months of age & over. Games for motivation & impulse control. Also, tunnels, cones & more. This class is a prerequisite for all other agility classes. AGILITY – Obstacles I Introduction of agility obstacles. Open to dogs who have completed the Foundations class. AGILITY – Obstacles II Continuing agility obstacles. Open to dogs who have completed the Obstacles I class AGILITY – Skills & Drills This class will introduce sequencing & handling while continuing to grow proficiency on the obstacles. Open to dogs who have completed Foundations & Obstacles I & II or instructor approval AGILITY – Coursework This class will promote growth in handler & dog abilities & prepare the team for Novice level competition & beyond. Must be able to perform all obstacles independently at full height & be sequencing obstacles. AGILITY – Masters The Masters Class is for dogs actively competing in Agility. The objective in this class is to have fun while continuously improving dog & handler communications & skills. The dog must have at least one leg in Open Agility or equivalent AGILITY – Focus sessions 4 weeks of intense training in a particular area.
