SCOTT CYPHERS, AIA, LEED AP

BOOTH HANSEN

Principal Scott joined Booth Hansen in 1998 after receiving his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Virginia. He left the firm two years later to pursue a Master of Architecture at MIT. Upon receiving his Masters in 2003, Scott returned to Booth Hansen where he has contributed to institutional projects including the design of LEED rated fieldhouses for the Chicago Park District and the Cook County Courthouse. Scott has been extensively involved with the Chicago Botanic Garden since 2003, where he has overseen the Regenstein Center Renovation, Nursery, Greenhouse/Headhouse, and the Education Center, which is expected to achieve LEED Platinum certification. He has also been involved in design and planning of dormitories at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, UIUC, and the Art Institute of Chicago. His higher education portfolio is supplemented by dining halls and mixed-use spaces at UIUC and Northwestern University. Scott has also contributed to the development of both the Virgin and Nobu Hotel projects. He is an adjunct lecturer in the Architectural Engineering + Design program at Northwestern, in which engineering students develop creative thinking skills through a series of comprehensive architecture studio courses.
