PRESENTS The Secret World of Deep Cover Operatives with authors Michele McPhee, Anderson Harp and Leo J. Maloney Saturday September 12, 2015 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Best selling author, Emmy-nominated investigative reporter and award-winning journalist Michele McPhee has spent two decades covering terrorism, murder, mobsters, and corruption for television, newspapers and radio. McPhee is the author of five true crime books. Her most recent, A Professor's Rage, investigates the life of Harvard-educated scientist Amy Bishop, who murdered her brother in a crime covered up because of her mother’s political clout. Bishop’s final crime was the murder of three of her colleagues at the University of Alabama-Huntsville. She is the recipient of many journalism awards, including the Society of the Silurian’s Feature News Award for her New York Daily News 9-11 coverage. She was awarded First Place for Serious Column in the Boston Herald by the Associated Press. Her work for ABC Boston affiliate WCVB earned her a 2012 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Investigative Reporting. Anderson “Andy” Harp graduated from American University in both political science and economics and then signed up with the United States Marine Corps. As a young officer, he served with both the artillery and small mountain warfare, arctic instructor survival group. Upon graduation from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in Macon, Georgia, Harp was a District Attorney in Cordele, Georgia. At the same time he continued his Marine Corps career in the Reserves. He rose up through the ranks to Colonel and served in Central America, the Persian Gulf, Europe and the Pentagon. While at the Pentagon, he served in the Secretary of Defense’s Executive Support Center and with Reserve Affairs. In 1997, he was elected National President of the Marine Corps Reserve Officer’s Association. His decorations include, among others, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and Navy Commendation Medal. He is a recipient of the Non-Sibi Sed Patriae Lifetime Achievement Award given by the Marine Corps Reserve Association. Harp’s novel Retribution was released by Kensington Books nationally on February 25, 2014. The audio book is available on Amazon. His next thriller, Born of War, was released in March, 2015. He has written for CNN, The Huffington Post, Newsmax and the ITW. He also holds a Masters in Fine Arts in Literary Fiction from Queens University of Charlotte. Leo J. Maloney served as a deep cover black operative contractor for a clandestine government agency, accepting highly secretive missions throughout world. He has also served as a police officer/detective and is a licensed private investigator in Massachusetts. Leo has also acted in independent films and T.V. commercials. He has several movies to his credit, either as an actor, producer, technical advisor, or assistant director. Leo’s first novel, Termination Orders, was published by Kensington Publishing in 2012. Subsequent books in the Dan Morgan thriller series, Silent Assassin and Black Skies were released in 2013 and 2014. A novella, Twelve Hours, was released in February 2015. The rights for Termination Orders have been picked up by Amber Entertainment.
