But with a kiss that kills anything with a soul, she’s anything but normal. Half demon, half gargoyle, Layla has abilities no one else possesses. Raised among the Wardens—a race of gargoyles tasked with hunting demons and keeping humanity safe—Layla tries to fit in, but that means hiding her own dark side from those she loves the most. Especially Zayne, the swoon-worthy, incredibly gorgeous and completely offlimits Warden she’s crushed on since forever. Then she meets Roth—a tattooed, sinfully hot demon who claims to know all her secrets. Layla knows she should stay away, but she’s not sure she wants to—especially when that whole no-kissing thing isn’t an issue, considering Roth has no soul. THE NOTORIOUS PAGAN JONES Coming Late 2014 Nina Berry's THE NOTORIOUS PAGAN JONES, the first in a new series set in Berlin in 1961, in which a disgraced Hollywood starlet is pulled into a complex world of politics and intrigue as the Cold War heats up, to Annie Stone at Harlequin Teen, at auction, in a twobook deal, by Tamar Rydzinski at the Laura Dail Literary Agency (World English).

What They’re Saying... OTHERKIN "Berry's debut offers just the right combination of high-stakes exploits and steamy love scenes to keep readers up until the wee hours... From body image to friendship, first love and betrayal, the novel explores the truth that no matter who or what you are, there's no escaping the politics of high school. A page-turner." - Kirkus Reviews "Readers will be swept away by the romance and paranormal elements of this debut tale.." - School Library Journal OTHERMOON "Plenty to enjoy in the action-packed sequel... Fans of the series and new readers alike will find themselves anxiously turning pages... On the surface, this appears to be a novel meant to satisfy ravenous paranormal-fantasy fans looking for an exciting read with a hearty order of romance on the side. While it certainly fills the bill, there's depth here that shouldn't be overlooked. Dez wrestles with real-life issues about identity and belonging, about trust and loyalty, and about friendship and love that will resonate with teen readers across genres." - Kirkus Reviews "Berry's second Otherkin novel is suspenseful and action packed. Dez is a strong, smart protagonist whom readers will root for, as she tries to stay true to herself. There are layers of deeper meaning here, hidden amidst an entertaining shapeshifter YA. Martina Boone Born in what is now the Czech Republic, Martina Boone spoke several languages before she learned English after her family defected. When her second grade teacher made fun of her for not being able to pronounce the "wh" sound, she set out to be able to read "all the words." She's still working on that. Martina loves reading and writing books about beautiful, vicious, magical worlds that intersect our own. She loves books you can't put down, with settings you want to move into, and characters you can't forget. The founder of Adventures in YA Publishing, a Writers Digest 101 Best Websites for Writers site, she also runs the First Five Pages Workshops for writers getting ready to submit their manuscripts to agents and editors. The first book in her YA Southern Gothic trilogy, The Heirs of Watson Island, will be available from Simon Pulse Fall 2014.

BEHOLDEN The Heirs of Watson Island Trilogy Coming Fall 2014 Three plantations. Two gifts. One curse that will destroy them. Seventeen-year-old Barrie Watson has been a virtual prisoner in the house where she lived with her disabled, shut-in mother. When her mother dies, Barrie longs for life, for freedom, but at her aunt's South Carolina plantation, she finds a new kind of prison instead. One guarded by a lane of moss-shrouded oaks and an ancient spirit who, long ago, cursed one of the three founding families and gave the other two magical gifts that became compulsions. For 300 years, the Watsons of Watson's Landing have been bound to their plantation and forced to find lost things. Now Barrie may never be allowed to leave. Stuck on Watson Island with the ghosts of a generations-old feud between the founding families and hunted by forces she doesn't see, Barrie has only one chance to save herself. She must solve the mystery of what happened on the island the night her mother left and learn how her mother escaped. With the help of sunlit Eight Beaufort, the boy who always knows what she wants even when she doesn't know herself, Barrie follows a trail of clues. What she finds is dangerous: a love she never expected, a river that turns to fire at midnight, a gorgeous cousin who isn't what she seems, and very real enemies who want both Eight and Barrie dead.

Lanie Bross Lee was born and raised in a very small town in MidCoast Maine where she spent countless hours exploring the woods around the farm where she lived, and playing dress up with her grandma's suede boots. She even had a stubborn pinto pony named Magic. Lee left small town life after high school graduation, seeking bigger and better things, but quite honestly, the city life was not for her. She yearned for fresh air and space to roam, and she found her way back home ten years later, this time with a husband and two young boys in tow. She now lives in her grandparents old house, on a dirt road, in the same small town she grew up in. It's poetic, which makes her smile as she sips coffee staring at nothing but trees outside the window. Lee started writing in 2007, but don't ask her how very bad that first novella was. Hey, everyone has to start somewhere. Thankfully, her skills improved and her debut release, FATES, is coming out in 2013 from Delacorte under her pseudonym Lanie Bross. Then in 2014, you can read TANGLED WEBS, her YA Historical Fantasy book with DisneyHyperion under her own name. Sequels to both will follow. It's going to be a busy three years.

FATES Coming 02.11.14 One moment. One foolish desire. One mistake. And Corinthe lost everything. She fell from her tranquil life in Pyralis Terra and found herself exiled to the human world. Her punishment? To make sure people's fates unfold according to plan. Now, years later, Corinthe has one last assignment: kill Lucas Kaller. His death will be her ticket home. But for the first time, Corinthe feels a tingle of doubt. It begins as a lump in her throat, then grows toward her heart, and suddenly she feels like she is falling all over again--this time for a boy she knows she can never have. Because it is written: one of them must live, and one of them must die. In a universe where every moment, every second, every fate has already been decided, where does love fit in? Tracy Clark Tracy Clark is a young-adult writer because she believes teens deserve to know how much they matter and that regardless of what they’re going through, they aren’t alone. In other words, she writes books for her teen self. She grew up a “Valley Girl” in Southern California but now lives in her home state of Nevada, in a small town at the base of the Sierra Foothills. Her two children teach her the art of distraction and are a continuous source of great dialogue. She’s an unapologetic dog person who is currently owned by a cat. Tracy was the recipient of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) Work in Progress Grant. A two-time participant in the prestigious Nevada SCBWI Mentor Program where she was lucky enough to be mentored by bestselling author, Ellen Hopkins, who taught her so much about the art of writing and cured her of her ellipsis addiction. While being mouthy has gotten her into trouble at times, she’s happy to give characters the freedom to be as mouthy as they need to be. Tracy is a part-time college student, a private pilot, and an irredeemable dreamer.

Claudia Gray Claudia Gray is a pseudonym. I would like to say that I chose another name so that no one would ever learn the links between my shadowy, dramatic past and the explosive secrets revealed through my characters. This would be a lie. In truth, I took a pseudonym simply because I thought it would be fun to choose my own name. (And it is.) I write novels full-time, absolutely love it, and hope to be able to do this forever. My home is in New Orleans, is more than 100 years old, and is painted purple. In my free time I read, travel, hike, cook and listen to music.

Sara Raasch Sara Raasch has known she was destined for bookish things since the age of five, when her friends had a lemonade stand and she tagged along to sell her hand-drawn picture books too. Not much has changed since then — her friends still cock concerned eyebrows when she attempts to draw things and her enthusiasm for the written word still drives her to extreme measures. Her debut YA fantasy, SNOW LIKE ASHES, is coming out fall 2014 from Balzer + Bray. It does not feature her hand-drawn pictures.
