The Village School Summer Music Program Mary Carfagna, cello & violin: Mary has over 20 years of teaching experience. A graduate of California Institute of the Arts, St. Louis Conservatory and Brandeis University, she is currently on the music faculty at Cushing Academy. She is teaching beginner to advanced cello and beginner to intermediate violin at the Village School this summer.
About the program: Summer instrumental music lessons will take place at the Village School from July 7 – August 22 Lessons are open to ALL AGES – even adults! Students may begin cello, violin and piano at age 4, recorder, guitar and ukulele at age 6, and flute at age 9. Group and private lessons are available. Flexible schedule: Just sign up for the weeks when you’re home – you won’t be charged for lessons when you’re on vacation! Why sign up for summer lessons? Cheri Robartes, piano: Cheri has taught piano in Boston for over 30 years. She now lives in Warwick, MA. With an emphasis on the joy of playing music, Cheri teaches pop, jazz and classical music, sight reading, and playing with two hands from day one. Cheri is a graduate of Berklee School of Music, with a major in music composition. Matthew Hamer, guitar & ukulele: Matthew is a local homeschool student who has been teaching guitar at the Village School since 2011. In addition to teaching guitar in our summer & after school music programs, Matthew now offers ukulele lessons for ages 6 and up. Jocelyn Langer, flute, recorder, guitar: Jocelyn has been teaching music locally and around the world for over 15 years.
