LITERARY TALE: THE TRANSFORMATION OF THE CHRONOTOPE One of the most well-known and most influential genres of literature is fairy tale, common human experiences, hopes and fear are concentrated there. This genre of narration has awaken the interest of the scientist all over the world during few last centuries. In the modern literature studies we meet a lot of works devoted to the classification and description of such genres as folktale, fairy tale, literary tale, fantasy, but very little has been written about the transformations which happened during the evolution of the genre. The aim of the article is to reveal the transformations, which happened on the chronotopical level of the text organization in the process of formation of literary tale. The category of space and time is one of the most important structural and genre element of the poetics of literary tale, it has an intrinsic generic significance. It is the chronotope that defines genre and generic distinctions. The transformation of the chronotope of literary tale will be represented on the material of the literary tales by Scandinavian authors, namely tales by Zacharia Topelius, Selma Lagerlöf, Astrid Lindgren and Maria Grippe.
